Pinarello experience

Visited The Bike Rooms in Swindon today to consider some new bibs and sunglasses, came away without buying anything, but with holiday and new bike thoughts. No pressure from sales guys, but you can’t have a lengthy test ride on any of the Pinarello bIkes;  however they have a Pinarello experience in Mallorca where you can hire any of their bIkes which sounds great. Question is has anybody done this, or indeed are there similar schemes elsewhere?

Most people who buy 8k bikes actually 🙂 I’ve spent 3k on a frameset without ever riding the bike! If you’re an experienced rider, know what you want, know your bike fit, what races it will be for etc then a bikes pretty much a bike.

If you’ve not much of a clue about bikes or only have £ 1-2000 to spend then lengthy test rides are the norm as the bikes differ wildly in value, handling. The more you spend the differences are much more minimal.

I agree, at these prices, you’re not going to get a bad bike – but I’m not sure how you can know what bike you want without riding them – do you choose purely on looks and reviews?  I thought I wanted a Willier or Colnago, but ended up buying a Cervelo R5 after riding them all.

Bought a great set of wheels last year, so the deal you mention would be on my radar. Just need to ride one first to know it will be right for me.

Are you thinking of going for a Pinarello on your next bike? Which model has your eye? enlightened

Was considering a Gan. Was on a group ride last year and one of the support riders was raving about it, after he had been leant one on a previous ride. Advise was that you just have to try it, easier said than done.

I was in Mallorca last year

I was in Mallorca last year and one of the guys decided to go up market and hire from PInarello, rather than the default of Max Huerzler, he was very pleased and it wasn’t significantly more costly than Max
