Point taken (as is Beatnik69’s) , but it’s probably a U.S. pic, so single brake lever on LHS.

Would be a bonus feature on a Boris bike.

I don’t see a problem with that. Worst case is that the PC drops his coffee or falls off his bike and learns to be a bit more careful in future. Maybe he’s using it as a close-pass test – drivers that spill his coffee get pulled over for a talking to.

Perhaps the PDW Bar-ista coffee cup holder would minimise the risk of split-beverage misery?

Coffee holder and no brakes. Seems sensible. Fixed gear doesn’t count as braking either.

I like the idea of that but the roads round here are far too bumpy so it would need to be mounted on some sort of gimbal style device.

not yet, but I do have this one of 7 men wearing bright orange trousers, one of whom is riding a scooter:

I think they’re on their way back to Snow White

    I think you may be

I think you may be overthinking this clip. Not every cycling video on YouTube has to be evidence of wrong-doing, preparation for prosecution, footage of an altercation, or whatever. I pretty much always have it running when I’m riding so that when my skull is finally ground flat by a passing vehicle and I can only be recognised by dental records, then my loved ones will have the recording of my dying scream to remember me by. If it’s a dodgy manouevre by a works vehicle with contact details on, then I’ll send it in to the firm, and if it’s a close pass that gets too close to my son when we’re out, then I send it to the police (they never take it up though)

but sometimes you just see interesting and weird stuff that’s worth recording. The same day I also saw a  bit of confusion at the lights a minute further down the road https://www.dropbox.com/s/iqbgl0wt6zucly2/2017-03-07-WindsorBridgeLights.mp4?dl=0  – which I’ll give to the local council because there’s a risk of an accident, but really isn’t that interesting. I also had a flock of parakeets fly in front of me the other day (which didn’t show up, sadly), but also other various animals:

if you can alliterate as well then all the better- as in “Bamboo bike bing bang bong! ” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRhzsslWvWU

but I really don’t put much work into it – this is as good as I’ve seen it done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN8fv-GT40o

I take the fact that people are expressing some sort of opinion here that it is mildly interesting to see a copper riding a bike whilst holding a cup of coffee. I

Whats the point of this clip?
Whats the point of this clip? Are you after a ban on cyclists drinking from water bottles too?

He’s not in control of a tonne of High powered medal. He’s cycling. He’s no significant risk to anyone.

do you start as “troll”, then

do you start as “troll”, then work up to “vigilante”?

I don’t know, I was a bit surprised, it’s definitely against rule 66 (both hands on handlebars, don’t carry anything which will affect your balance), and it’s a fairly busy area with foreign tourists wandering around a narrow street with lots of cars parked either side. There’s a good reason for not having a mobile in your hand whilst driving, and I think the same principle applies for hot coffee on a moving bike

but it was pretty slow motion. At least they weren’t on the pavement or going against the one-way, which distinguishes them from half the bikes around here (police included) …
