Have decided to up my clothing game this year and rather than pick up odds and sods here and there drop 250 – 300 on new kit in an effort to look more pro / be co-ordinated / generally feel better. Mainly fairweather riding, I have a decent rain jacket and shoes so looking at shorts, jerseys, arm/leg warmers, maybe a gillet.

Good people of road.cc – let me know what brands / ranges etc i should consider…

    +1 for Giordana, you hardly

+1 for Giordana, you hardly ever see it here but it’s brilliant quality and stylish.

Also may I put in a vote for Craft, their stuff is incredibly durable and not at all shouty. Still wearing a Craft rain jacket that I bought in September 2010 on my commute, it’s still waterproof and has worn well. And still happy with my Craft bibshorts, now 5 years old and barely showing any wear.

    No love for DHB?
    No love for DHB?

Much better quality than the Castelli kit I’ve had and i prefer their winter kit to the prestigious assos winter jacket too.

    Plenty of options there.

RH++ For me it’s Italian and

RH++ For me it’s Italian and their race cuts fit my physique well plus it’s got most of the quality of Assos and Rapha without being too exorbitant.

For this winter I am mostly top to toe in Gore bike wear

I’d throw a vote in for Pearl

I’d throw a vote in for Pearl Izumi. Love their shorts. Their jerseys aren’t bad either.

    Thanks all, some really good

Thanks all, some really good names there – La Passione and Morvelo standing out for me so far. Unfortunately limited chance of those arriving on Sport Pursuit anytime soon but I live in hope…

    To make your money stretch

To make your money stretch further, if you’re not a member already, join SportPursuit:

    (ignore the tongue-in-cheek link).

Have a look at the Rivelo stuff. A few friends have said good things.

Or, failing that, join a local club and buy their kit.

Or, you can look at the kit you already have and like, and just buy more of that. Once you find a brand which suits you, that’s who you’ll gravitate towards. E.g. I always look at Pearl Izumi first.

    Giordana for me, quality kit,

Giordana for me, quality kit, less well known, wide range of prices means you could blow your budget on 1 item or a complete kit.

    Rapha Archive Sale is still

Rapha Archive Sale is still on, with a few really good looking pieces left here and there.

Currently eyeing up this new brand from Australia at the moment:

Liking this in particular, but can’t see me forking out for it unless it goes on sale:

Pretty limited range and they’re still in the ‘write massive letters on on your kit to get the word out’ stage, but I’m expecting good things from them.

Good for you! My kit often

Good for you! My kit often looks like I’ve been cobbled together by a colourblind person. I follow a load of clothing brands on insta, god knows why i never buy any of it.. but, in answer to your question…

Café du Cycliste, Bioracer, Vermarc, Morvelo, Stolen Goat, Isadore, la Passione…  or some more bespoke designs from the likes of Attacus, Pedal Mafia, Mav Cycling, Bike Inside and my fav prism-bike !

(I’ve left out Rapha, Velobici and Ashmei for value purposes).
