charge spoon saddle materials?

    Ive had a leather spoon saddle on my road bike for  quite a while and its almost worn ththrough now. Im considering its replacement and there are now synthetic, leather or denim materials to choose from – anybody got any experience of different ones?

    I also have a black Spoon,

    I also have a black Spoon, (sure it’s not leather, but vinyl) again relatively new condition, Charge transfer a bit rubbed off on the saddle rails, but no marking etc.

    Make me an offer for either/or both if you’re interested??

    I’ve a Charge Pan by Bill

    I’ve a Charge Pan by Bill Amberg Studios.

    It’s leather, there’s a cutout (Charge emblem on underside)

    It is in relatively new condition, very little use.

    Similar ride feel to the Spoon.

    Fabric Scoop for a road bike

    Fabric Scoop for a road bike would be my suggestion.  The ‘basic’ ones are very good, and thereafter you pay your money and you take your choice.

     

    Can’t say I’d be keen on a denim saddle on a road bike

    Ditto.  I have a Spoon from

    Ditto.  I have a Spoon from several years ago; stopped using it because the stitching was eating my shorts.  It’s definitely some kind of plastic covering. 

    Now have lovely smooth leather saddles on both road bikes; a B17 special on the winter, and a Spa Cycles Aire on the summer (the latter is a Chinese copy of a Brooks Swallow)

    I’ve got a Spoon on all 3 of

    I’ve got a Spoon on all 3 of my bikes and I’m 99% sure it’s not leather.
