mio 305 hc help

Had quite a few issues with the 305hc. Looking on a few forums for advice. Found a site and someone posted that you have to format both the mio system and the mio data drive. Did this and now it will recover the system drive but not the mio data drive. Is there any way you can recover what was on the data drive. Or is it possible to copy the data from that drive to a disk for me so i can transfer it to my device. Help needed.
