Garmin 510 directions stop after off course / course found

Garmin Edge 510, couple of years old now. Recently developed these symptoms. If I am using a course for directions it works ok at first ref turn notifications, distance to next etc. However if I get an Off course warning, and subsequent Course found message, then the turn notifications stop and distance to next keeps growing. I can still follow the course on the map, but it's really annoying having to watch the map not the road. Anyone else had this problem &/or any ideas on a fix? Thx
