Cyclocross Beginner – Chosing the CX Bike (HAIBIKE NOON RX)

    Hi All

    I am beginner to CX and looking for a good bike to start with.I am confused among three choices and would like your help.

    Choice 1:My usual cycle store is proposing an assemble bike (with EXS frame and Shimano 105 set) Advantag:Adapted to me and good quality accesories

    Cost ~1500 euro

    Choice 2:I have found a clearence sale deal on Haibike NOON Rx model (carbon frame and shimano ulterga )

    Cost ~1500 euro

    Choice 3:I go for standard choices like lapierre or Giant TCX 

    Cost~1300 euro

    I am highly inclined towards Noon Rx as it seems a great deal for a very good bike. Anyone have any experience with this bike.

    Also I am 180 with inseam 81. The store is proposing me 54 size. Is it well adapted to use the cycle for multiuse(gravel longdistance and comfort touring)

    Be aware that the Noon has

    Be aware that the Noon has disc brakes BUT a 130mm rear hub spacing; this makes finding or making wheels awkward and expensive!  The stock wheels are very lightweight and low in spoke count; admittedly I am a larger rider but I soon sold the bike on for the above reasons.

    racing ralph is a hardpack tyre, it clogs in thick mud, and is lightweight so on the fragile side. they zip along nicely on gravel roads/tracks.

    Hi. you probbaly won’t get many repsonses as Haibike isn’t a brand we are familiar with in the UK, and I think most posters on here are UK based.

    I’ve googled the frame geometry and the 54 looks the right size to me. Racing ralphs are good tyres for early season races, but struggle a bit as cross courses become very muddy. They are a good choice for general riding though / gravel although most proper cross tyres have very little puncture resistnace so you may want to change to a more robust tyre for touring.
