Edco wheels – what are your thoughts?

    Hi,

I’m currently running Ultra 6800s and was looking to upgrade to Dura Ace C24. I’m looking for something light, durable and pretty much fit and forget with minimum maintenance – the DA’s seem to fit the bill.

However, my LBS has suggested I look at Edco – he’ll knock a £1300 wheelset down to around £800.

They’re a pretty new brand and I can’t see many reviews for them.

Has anyone any thoughts or experience?

    Cheers

    Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback.  Went with the Edcos in the end.

    It’s still the same company.

    First outing tomorrow!

    Shop around, you can find

Shop around, you can find excellent deals on wheels as light as that – and lighter – from the handbuilders in the UK, who’ll be closer to hand if you need fixing/truing.

That said, Edco is an interesting long-established company with a long history of making hubs, bottom brackets and headsets. Wheels seem to be a new departure for them. Not entirely sure from their website whether they are the same company or whether someone bought the branding.
