My wife’s planning on us going away in the October half-term and found this place that seems to cater for cyclists alongside their families rather well, on paper at least:
Oasis Papagayo
Spain, Canary Islands, Fuerteventura, Corralejo
I wouldn’t take my own bike so would be reliant on hiring one while I’m there, they quote “top end race bikes”, though at least one of the tripadvisor reviews bemoan the quality of the bikes (no details though so I suspect from non-cyclists hiring whatever they can). The bike hire section on the hotels’ site 404’s unfortunately.
I’d be hoping for a reasonable race bike with Shimano pedals, so I can get away with just bringing my own shoes and kit.
So, has anyone stayed there before and what was it like?
If the hotel bike hire is rubbish, and there any other vaguely local options in northern Fuerteventura? Roughly how much is a days hire likely to cost?
I’d plan on getting in 3-4 rides over 7 days I reckon, are there any particular things not to miss while over there? I’m a climber by nature so mountains would be my preference.
Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
