    Hello,

I’m wondering whether to upgrade my trusty Edge 500 to the new 520 and wondered if anyone had any advice or opinions on the matter?

I’ve read reviews and the 520 is certainly an improvement. However, for the additional features, is it worth the additional outlay of c.£200? Do people feel they got that extra value out of it compared to the 500 (or even the 510)?

Also, if I do go for it, is it worth getting the new cadence & HR bundle, or is it alright to stick with the old accessories and save the £40-ish?

Opinions and thoughts welcome – do you feel you got added value from the new features and performance with the 520?

    Cheers!

RE: Cyclespeed, have you loaded custom maps on to it yet? I’m interested to hear how people feel that works

    I’ve gone from the 500 to 510

    I’ve gone from the 500 to 510 to 520.

Each upgrade was worth it me, better functionality, clearer screen.

Most noticeably, the GPS accuracy improved alot when going 500 to 510. No more missed segments.

Unlike most, I liked the 510 touch screen, but I am getting used to the 520’s buttons now.

520 is smaller and neater than the 510, whilst doing more.

The ‘extra’ pack is worth it, as even if you don’t want the sensors, you can sell them on, and still be quids in.
