    The Everton fanzine Toffeeweb doesn’t have comments disabled on their website. When I looked yesterday most people wanted the player sacked. Football fans are notoriously fickle and one eyed though – that Gibson has been permanently injured / unfit for years is likely to be a factor in the fans’ views too. Duncan Ferguson got done for drink driving and imprisoned for assault but was viewed as a hero by many.

    Feel ashamed that he is on
    Feel ashamed that he is on the payroll of my beloved club. I think he should be sacked. He certainly won’t be missed, possibly his unprofessional apparent piss artestry causing him to be injured 90% of the time. I will be emailing club to express my disgust. I hope the cyclist is ok and litigates!
