Shimano cage pedals?

Hello Vintage Shimano pedals and cleats - is the PD-64 cleat any good for road riding, or was it meant for track? If meant for track, what was the road option? I need get some vintage pedals, the build is mostly late 80's and early 90's Shimano stuff, (da7400 and 1050slr) so pedals such as in the attachments would fit the theme. -M-
