That reminds me of the Micky
That reminds me of the Micky Flanagan thing on Ventoux, where he overtook his mate on an electric bike.

If it gets more people out of
If it gets more people out of their cars and onto public transport or full commutes by bike, I’m all for people using electric aids when cycling. This is never going to replace normal bikes, but it can help those who maybe don’t feel they can do a full commute on their own power.

The original A bikes sell for
The original A bikes sell for quite a bit of money. It is great for commuters using trains and underground as part of their journey with maybe a couple of miles on each end, you can’t take a normal bike on the tube, these A bikes and other folding bikes you can.

Trying to take a Brompton on the tube at rush hour is barely do-able.

So this is a great idea, lets say you can cycle at 12.5mph already on a normal bike without breaking a sweat on the way to work, well now you can do it without even thinking about it using the battery. Got a long commute, no worries, stick the charger in your back and charge the battery at work for the way home, it is not like it is going to get in the way on your desk.

The bike is really only designed for commuting though, there is no real use outside of that.
