    A few times recently I have come to the forum or homepage and it doesn’t load properly. It loads up like a 90s dial-up internet page with all the text left justified and in Times New Roman. None of the comments are visible or new posts available. I often have other pages and videos running okay at the same time. Anyone else getting this or am I in a crazy timewarp?

    Logged out it’s between 0.2-0.4 seconds. Logged in it’s between 2 and 4 seconds.

    Very annoying

    Sounds like a job for a database cache.

    Yep, all of the above. I
    Yep, all of the above. I used to navigate round the site using the ‘recent posts’ sidebar, so that one is frustrating. It is unusual for a site that generates enough traffic that it retains proper paid staff, to performs quite as slowly as this one often does.

    I agree road.cc is v slow
    I agree road.cc is v slow even on a good day. Is it running on a Pentium 4? Yes I have noticed the style sheets not loading quite a lot recently v annoying.

    Yep, I get it too – the stylesheets don’t load. Refreshing, clearing cache etc don’t seem to fix it. I just give up now and go somewhere else, then try again in a couple of hours and it usually works.

    And yes, now the latest comments/forum sidebars only appear on the homepage which is also frustrating. They’ve probably done it for technical reasons as the site is slow and buggy but its a terrible UX design decision.

    same problem here –
    same problem here – particularly on safari on my iPhone.

    @Otis I’ve noticed that. I think it’s intentional, but I don’t like it

    I thought it was only me
    I thought it was only me having those issues due to a crappy laptop and even crappier broadband- that’s a relief at least.

    Now again is it just me or are the “Latest Comments” and “On the Forum” sidebars only appearing on the home page and not when you go to an article page?
