I watched this programme in awe last night at the efforts of the medical profession to save a cyclist who had gone under the wheels of an HGV. The skill, professionalism and bravery (I use bravery because you need big kahunas to perform open heart surgery on a London street) of all the clinicians involved was incredible. Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the cyclist didn’t pull through…. RIP.

If you didn’t see it, iPlayer it.

    Riveting television that
Riveting television that shows how vulnerable we all are, especially on a bicycle. I remember the news story about this cycling tragedy last year, so it was even more remarkable to see how the paramedics heroically attempted to save the ladies life, both at the scene and back at the hospital. Heartbreaking in the end, as so may of these incidents are.

My lady, a big fan of medical dramas, announced that she would be watching this programme so I picked up a magazine, intending to spend a happy hour reading in my armchair. I didn’t finish the first page, so gripping was the story of the poor girl cyclist. And I don’t mind admitting that, when the end came, I must have had something in my eye.

I also managed to see this
I also managed to see this incredible programme. My hat goes off to all the medics involved in such a grave situation. An ending that was overwhelmingly sad.
