I have a dawes synthesis hybrid bike with 700c wheels and 7sp shimano alivio. It currently has flat bar. I am looking to convert it into a tourer bike. I have some shimano sora 9sp sti’s and a tiagra 9 sp cassette and rear derailleur. I was looking to see if its possible to upgrade the bike to drop bars and STI levers. it would have to be converted from 7 speed mtb style gearing to 9 speed road. the rear wheel is a 700c with 135 mm O.L.D. I understand that 8,9,10 speed hubs use 130mm OLD sizes. Is there a way i can cold set the frame or buy 135mm wheels with 9 sp hubs?
I know the standard CT90 M brakes will be compatible with STI’s so its just the gearing.
Another thing is that are the front dérailleurs the same pull ratio as each other. Ive got sore triple sti levers and the bike currently has a triple alivio chainset
Thanks in advance
