I’ve never been the most focused of sorts when it comes to training, I’ve always needed some sort of impetus to keep going faster (usually a wheel in front of me). But I’m planning to up the training this year to venture beyond time trials and into road racing and so have been considering doing intervals.
My current training isn’t too scientific. A fair amount of miles (150ish a week Apr to Oct) 25 of which will be with a club chaingang once a week plus some Strava hunting on my own (bit pathetic, I know, but it’s so addictive…).
So my question is, if I’m really serious about giving it as best a shot as possible should I be doing interval training plus the chaingang night or could I get away with increasing the chaingang nights to 2? There’s no shortage of bunches round here to drop in on.
Any thoughts?
