    Hi All,
stripped my Planet X Pro-Carbon recently and put the frame up for sale (was on classifieds here and then on eBay – Lord help us) :)) Anyway, after having what seemed like hundreds of questions (you know the ones on the other thread) I decided, after one joker phoned me and said “£250 mate, cash, take it or leave it”. I sat there and thought ‘you cheeky ba*****d’, she doesn’t eat or drink,,,,,,, Why not build it back up again and take it off eBay. ~X(

Well, I rebuilt it completely and just got back from a wonderful 25 mile ride – I must have been mad to strip this little bike down and put it for sale. What a great ride – great to be alive and out and about. Anyone thinking of getting a PX Pro-Carbon, go for it they are great machines for the brass.

My new Colly frame is about 5 times as much, but I do like this PX – a love affair rekindled.

    Right,,,,,,, guilt complex over. 😀

    Trikeman. 😉

Thanks trikeman. I too have not noticed any fork or front end flex in my bike.

Not too sure where you get
Not too sure where you get flexi forks from – I find little flex at all, comfortable yes, but no real hint of flex and Zondas would show up any flex quickly. Was the one your quoting an old one? Riden two of late and not noticed any ‘noticeable’ flex.

I think the pro carbon frame
I think the pro carbon frame is fine, but the fork is so flexy. Also: PX were selling the frame and fork for £230 for a short time over the summer!

Hi Redmeat – (what a handle, aye?) 😀

Anyway, I don’t think our masters, (from who I willingly ride in their swirling dust) would allow a direct link – however, have a gander on DHgate or Aliexpress and all your worldly desires will be fulfilled. One can buy anything from a knock off Bolex to a full Chinarello Dogmarrrr, S-Vorks aVenger or Bianchee.

Not that I agree with knock offs though and don’t want to get into an ethics debate. :O

    Regards,

    Trikeman. 😉

    I love mine too!
I just finished an unsupported JoGLE trip on mine with absolutely no probs (apart from EasyJet breaking my bike box and bending the rear mech in transit — d’oh).
The new(ish) edinburgh shop is great too. They know their stuff and you can ride the bikes too.
Nearly went for the RT58, but chose the Pro Carbon instead. Don’t think i would have been disappointed with either of them!

    That’s one of my

    Hi Redmeat,
That’s one of my ‘feel good’ saddles, you know, where one gets all smug with a bargain. 😀

Mate bought a genuine San Marco Aspinide and came swanning around with it on – all £280’s worth. Tried it, liked it then bought two off ‘Dan Dan the Chinaman’ for £18 quid each, full carbon, inc rails.
As much as my mate initially protested about quality etc we still can’t tell the difference. About 90grms all up and although it looks like an old implement of torture, it is extremely comfortable and with a half decent shorts pad its as comfy as any other I have tried. I also bought a ‘top of the range’ SNP puppy for the same money and that is just as comfortable. Our far Eastern friends are supplying all sorts now.
I honestly think I will never go back to a padded saddle, it sort of has a ‘built in’ suspension too,,,,, flexes nicely.

    Hope it helps,

    Trikeman. 😉
