Shimano BB with FSA carbon crankset-wavey washer Q

Lovely carbon FSA Fahrenheit crankset with fsa megaexo bb fitted to my colnago as std,megaexo has died so after noting much condemnation of the megaexo bb I installed SHIMANO dura ace items.
All went together fine until I torqued the non drive crank bolt,cranks don’t spin anywhere near freely and with every rotation there is a click/pop noise coming from non drive side .
i took it apart and refitted ,tightened to fsa torque spec, but without installing the wavey washer (which sits between crank and bb face),noise is away and pedals spin easier,no play in cranks either…am I good to go without wavey washer?
