Just had a yearly service done on my boardman road team carbo, first 150miles were great, now the drivetrain is so loud, like a horrible scrape type sound in the small cog, granny gears when climbing hills, I’ve uploaded a video to YouTube, any suggestions what could be causing it would be appreciated

I know you say its not
I know you say its not rubbing but have you checked your BB. If its loose the chainset may wobble a bit and rub on the front mech under load.

    Was the rear gear cable
Was the rear gear cable replaced? Most likely is poorly adjusted rear shifting.

Either way, take it back and if they can’t fix it then take it to a proper bicycle shop.

    sounds like your chain wants
sounds like your chain wants to go up a cog or down on the cassette, either a screw adjustment or adjust the cable tension should do the trick.

The chain doesn’t not appear to be rubbing anywhere, I’m not cross chaining, only time I get minor chain rub is going flat out down a big hill but a can trim this out.

    Halfords have attempted to
Halfords have attempted to tighten some cables back in that we’re replaced after its yearly service but this has not stopped the noise
