I have an expensive carbon frame and carbon fork bike which I wish to transport on my Peugeot 208 without tow bar. The Saris Gran Fondo would fit the bill but security is nil, I’d need to stop on long journeys, quality is possibly poor from what I’ve read on the web, and I suspect it’s too big when folded to fit in the car boot whilst I’m riding. So roof bars and roof rack seems logical. Thule’s ProRide 591 was approved by Cycling Plus and looks the job but is it OK for carbon frames. Alternative is Thule’s Outride 561 but the Thule suppliers I have looked at don’t recommend it is good for a carbon fork.

What are people’s experiences of these or other racks?
