a clincher has a hooked rim
a clincher has a hooked rim and is for normal tyres + inner tubes (or tubeless).

Tubular rim is for glued-on tubular tyres, which are more expensive than their clincher equivalents.

Clinchers are supplied on virtually every bike on the market so are much more popular. They are a little heavier as they require more material.

IMVHO carbon rims are overhyped and overrated (though that’s not to say people shouldn’t buy them).
