Most cycling fans want to help raise the profile of the womens race calendar. I think a female cyclist fantasy league woukd really help this. It would make more riders better known to more cycling fans, OK we may not see much of the racing but reading reports and youtube clips are good for this.
Go on guys, make it so.

    All other fantasy cycling
All other fantasy cycling games I’ve seen (and indeed all fantasy sport games) have been based on the male game. If road.cc get a womans competition up and running might be worth a bit of publicity as a first?

    You could use the
You could use the cqranking.com info to make a start perhaps.

I agree. It would be good to see some womens races but run as a seperate competition and not counting towards the overall (mens) road cc game as it is now. I would be in favour of a seperate overall league for the womens races/tours. I say this because I’ve always watched the cycling on TV and the game has enhanced my viewing. But the womens races are sadly just not televised so it would be much harder to pick a team. I’ve never trawled the internet researching riders. I’ve always picked my teams based on what I see on the TV. If the womens races were televised more I would watch for sure- any TV companies out there listening in…

It would be great to see a
It would be great to see a few woman’s races appear in the game and I’d certainly have a go at selecting a team whether or not it counted towards the overall compertition. As Ghedebrav said playing fantasy cycling has helped me get to know more about male riders/teams/races so would be good way of raising interest in female cycling.

    I can make up historical
I can make up historical history based on last season’s results if you wanted?

I’ll go through the races from 2012 and grab the GC results or something like that and make something up? đŸ˜•

    obviously there’s no
obviously there’s no hostorical form for any of the women, so that’s an issue as rider values are calculated from that now

    I might lean towards sticking
I might lean towards sticking to one days classics initially to see what the take up is then expand next year. Stuff like the Tour of Flanders should have plenty of Brit interest too which might help. Starting out with those races most likely to feature the likes of Vos and Armitstead (plus Wiggle Honda) should make it easier to follow for those not as clued up on the women’s side too.

    Well you have my email
Well you have my email address…..I’ll get onto it as soon as.

All results from last year can be found here

If you just click on woman’s elite and then 2012, might help you decide which races you might want.

I’m thinking, get the teams set up and do ONE race as a test? The tour of Qatar is a bit to soon, it starts it 3 days.

But the Vuelta el Salvador starts 28th Feb, gives us time to work in the teams and riders and make some values up??

    there’s no reason why the
there’s no reason why the races and riders couldn’t be added to the current fantasy engine. we’d need to look at what races will have readily available results, and what we can score. also how you access the riders and a bunch of other stuff.

Why not just run a few big
Why not just run a few big races on the forum like we did last year for some of the lower mens races? đŸ˜•

If it works out then maybe look at putting it in to the system :B

If it was up to me, I’d like
If it was up to me, I’d like to see at least the World Cup races, the Worlds, and some of the stage races. A lot to ask but women’s sport needs a higher profile. Anything like this can only help.

    I’d definitely back this.
I’d definitely back this. Doing then men’s fantasy competition has got me much more familiar with the riders and the competitions; it would be a great way to start following the women’s calendar, even if it was just a couple of one-dayers and the Worlds.

I’d assume you can just add
I’d assume you can just add teams into the main game and just select those for the appropriate races, the way the game works now almost caters for that, it’d just be a large amount of additional work to set up teams/riders and value everyone.

I guess it’s a time/value call, if road.cc thinks the amount of additional time and server costs are worth it then it’s probably do-able.
