I’m looking for a shop in or around London that will carry a good range of mid-to-high-end (something like £1500-2500) women’s road bikes. Any suggestions? Recommendations of good ranges for women, or men’s bikes that are suitable for the fairer sex, are also very welcome.

    I can’t tell you anything
I can’t tell you anything about women’s bikes but I do know that Condor Cycles on Gray’s Inn Road is a fantastic shop and that they will happily spend a couple of hours fitting you on a jig and working out the best choice of components for you. Go on a weekday if you can so that you can be guranteed their full attention.

    Seems crazy that you should
Seems crazy that you should be struggling with this in London of all places. There is a Spesh concept store though:

Spesh seem good at the female stuff, they apparently have an entire product team devoted to womens-specific kit, and are one of the firms that don’t simply ‘paint it pink and give it a silly name’. They’ll do a good bike fitting as well.

Hi. Try Sigma Sport out in
Hi. Try Sigma Sport out in Kingston. They specialise in higher end bikes and stock a large range of brands. They definitely have the Specialized women’s range and possibly the Trek WSD. Direct train from Waterloo (Zone 3, I think)

    Thanks for the tip. I’m
Thanks for the tip. I’m struggling to find anywhere in London big enough to carry test models for that price range of women’s bikes, I guess they’re too niche. Don’t really fancy hauling up to Yorkshire just to browse, but we might have to make a weekend of it.

    Cheers

I’m not sure if their range
I’m not sure if their range on show goes that high but I always find the family run Simpson cycles in Kentish town very helpful.
