    According to the official tour of Poland web site this is the top 20 from todays stage:

    Well, there’s always an exception to every rule and to be fair the one they do around Krakow in the final stage of the ToP ain’t bad either, but when you look at some of the finishing circuits they’ve had in the Giro down the years, they’ve just been plain dangerous!

    Agree on this, don’t really see the point in doing a number of laps of 1 big circuit in a stage race, it just makes it dull to watch!

    I don’t mind finishing circuits, Something like the final stage of the TdF, round and round Paris.

    Its when a stage is just a long circuit thats not great and doesn’t reflect well on the race nor the country hosting that race. What was the ToP loop yesterday 39.7km or something like that and circled a couple of times it half a race. Just no need. Go out into the country a little and if you want that climb in there again, circle around on another route, mix it up a bit.

    As I said, this loop of “Cat 1’s” is going to be a fun stage………………….NOT 👿

    Yeah, that’s a far more sensible approach! 😀

    Or the UCI could just ban finishing circuits for stage races! 😕

    Why not just give all riders the same time as the final group and add + 1 lap a bit like F1, it’ll look really bad for them and teach them to never get caught again 👿 👿

    But yeah, seeing that, it kind of makes sense, NOW, just to watch the stage with all the cat 1’s on laps, How many will be caught and lapped there……I have a feeling alot of people will also be timed out

    I’m guessing from the regulations on the official site (see below) that the time differences have something to do with the finishing circuits they do and so agree that the official site is more ‘reliable’ than Cycling News in this instance.

    Article 15 . END OF STAGE WITH LAPS
    15.1. Six stages of 69th Tour de Pologne UCI World Tour will end on the laps. Prior to the laps the Commissaires` Panel has the right to stop delayed cyclists for the time it deems necessary. The time for which the cyclists were stopped will be deducted from the actual time obtained at the Finish.
    15.2. The lapped riders will be obliged to pull over to the right side of the road as much as possible, so that the others can easily pass them on the left side of the road. They can also be stopped for the time necessary for leading cyclists to pass them. The time for which the cyclists were stopped, will be deducted from the time obtained by them at the Finish.

    Well I got 13…….Not going so well for my purist efforts. Where are all the big guys? Or they just using it as a training effort for the Olympics because they didn’t get picked for the TdF 😕

    For example, Cycling News have Heinrich Haussler as last man home at 16:51 today, however the Polish site has Manuel Cardoso as last man at 10:20.

    Could have done with the 10 points for Haussler as last man but these inconsistencies are kind of funny! 😀
