Its a long shot.....but i'm in SW France for the last 2 weeks of July and stage 18 http://www.letour.fr/2012/TDF/COURSE/us/1800/etape_par_etape.html goes past where i'm staying. Any recommendations on where the best vantage or viewing spots will be on this stage? Ta

Difficult to say, not tried
Difficult to say, not tried to view a stage before but with the last climb at 212km of 222km I’d assume it’ll be a breakaway day. Stage 17 is a big mountain day and 19 is the big TT so I’d think a breakaway may get away and the GC contenders will want to have an easy day.

The action could happen on the final climb with whatever breakaway attacking each other to go for the stage win. There are only four cat 3 and 4 climbs so there may even be a sprint for minor placings, its difficult to know without seeing the profile though.
