    For work I cycle at lunchtimes to meetings. As the weather warms its getting a little hot and sweaty to visit in shirt and tie and hi-vis coat (inner city riding).

    I’m looking for something smart to wear instead of shirt and tie but that’s more suited to being on a bike. The only thing I can find is the Rapha long sleeve polo but its a a little pricey.

    Has anyone seen anything anywhere else suitable or similar?

    Thanks for the advice. I thinks its shows there’s a real gap in the market for clothing that’s suitable for exercise/bike use that isn’t out and out sports styled.

    I think the last suggestion is actually very sensible – I need to remember my situation and not tear around as if on a road bike.

    Its the coat really though and thanks for the suggestion of a gilet – that will allow more air and stop the overheating while I wait for the Rapha sale!

    How about cycling slower? I cycle everywhere for meetings and getting hot is never a factor if I leave in time to make my appointments!

    mate, torm stuff is worth a
    mate, torm stuff is worth a look. its very rapha ‘inspired’ its a decent price. and before i get abuse. its the same principle as rapha i.e. subtle and the quality is great. i own a big chunk of rapha, shutt and some torm stuff. all on par with each other. rapha is a special treat/clearance bargain. shutt is nice with a voucher code torm is nice price from the start

    @Pisiform the rapha long sleeve top is lovely, though I got mine in the sales, which made them a bit more affordable. If you are keen on rapha the shirts are worth looking at too, though I’ve not tried those.

    The new tops from vulpine.cc look nice too.

    I’ve been wearing a mix of merino tops to work, but I don’t need to be shirt and tie smart all the time and when I do I can put a shirt on from my locker.

    Mavic did some lighter weight hi-viz in orange. Mavic Vision was the overall branding, I’ve got one of the white rapha ones, which is pretty visible too.

    You might try a merino top, planet-x have a great sale on them, plus a gilet for visibility and bring a shirt to put on over the merino once you take the gilet off?
