Sunday – spent pleasant hours at Rutland Cycles; felt a bit under the weather but deliberated long and hard before going home with a Madone 3.1.
    Monday 4am – A&E
Thursday 5pm – Home minus a burst appendix but 4lbs lighter.
Friday 10.30am signed off for two weeks staring at the bike in my dining room.

Be careful with your recovery… my appendix burst in April and I was back in hospital with an infection in October… which didn’t clear up so I had to have another operation in November.

Just be aware of the risks because if I was I may have avoided missing load of my first term at uni and having to have another op.

Ouch. Look on the bright side though, your first upgrade just shed 4lb off the total weight you need to carry!

Get well soon, the bike will still be there…
