    Hello All,

My Girlfriend is looking to get a new racing bike for around about the £1,000 mark. She does the occassional road race / criterium and sportive.

Any suggestions on what she should get? I suggested getting something second hand but she wants a brand new shiny one!

Another option – felt f85 (microshift shifters, 105 the rest) around £850.

    +1 on the Synapse 105.
    But

    +1 on the Synapse 105.

But for all, carbon Boardmans team carbon fi 2010/11 is a bargain.

I could not be happier with
I could not be happier with the Planet X SL Pro I picked up about 6 months ago – they were doing a mix of SRAM red/rival for £999. A heavier rider in my club had a few problems with a flexible front end, but it feels stiff enough to me. I think they have a store in London now too.

    The cannondale synapse 105
The cannondale synapse 105 was reviewed well in cycling active earlier in the year

I’ve been looking at mens bikes at a similar price point.
    Tempted by the CAAD8 myself
