Having completed yesterdays Dragon Ride Gran Fondo in Wales (great event by the way) for the first time, the enjoyment of it was lessened somewhat from my suffering from muscle cramps which kicked in royally just after the 100km mark and resulted in me spending 5 minutes in agony at the side of the road with my muscles contracting in pain.
By the 150km mark they finally settled down and I began finally to get some power down for the last 30 or 40 km.
Its a recurring problem for me. I do drink plenty of Electrolyte drinks during rides, i do a fair bit of training so i’m running out of ideas on how to prevent this persistent problem. Any ideas??
