I’ve owned my Park Tools CN-10 professional cable cutter for over eleven years now. I paid about $34, it currently sells for about $49 / £36 on this side of the pond.
I always though it did a bad job for a single purpose item. I have to use a pick to open up the hole in the crushed end. Then I read in a forum recently that a lot of mechanics indeed consider it bad, and if you have the money, get a Felco C7 (about $65 / £49), but the next best thing is Pedro’s (about $30 / £22.)
So I ordered a Pedro’s, and the results are in the photos below. Although the Park CN-10 is used, it’s only been used by me, in my garage. I estimate I’ve made cuts with it on the order of a few dozen times. Certainly under a hundred.
