Hi, can anyone help with some advice? Will a new rear wheel fit / align ok or require a more scientific approach to install? I expect to have to adjust the index of the gear change. I am wondering about hub position / alignment etc.

    Thanks

The only other adjustment you might need is to the brakes, the braking surface might be at a different height and wider/narrower than you other rims. Tho is a 404 a carbon brake surface? if so youll be fitting different pads anyway.

It should go straight on with no issues, I have R3s and Zipp 303s, swap from one to the other without any adjustments.

Looking to take a 10 speed 105 cassette off of stock Fulcrum Racing 6 wheel on a Roubaix to go a Zipp 404 wheel and 188 hub and back onto the frame. I expected to have to tweak the index but feared there would be bigger alignment issues and spacers required.

    Thanks

    What are you going from/to?
What are you going from/to? As long as the Zipp has got the same type of cassette on it then there shouldn’t be any issues at all. The spacing should all be the same. There may be a tiny amount of adjustment needed on the cable adjust on the rear mech if the gears are indexed perfectly but it may not even need that.
