Rode 150m yesterday (200km Audax plus home and back) mostly in subzero temperatures, but found my torso getting uncomfortably sweaty.
Legs OK (DHB Roubaix tights), fingers were toasty (SealSkinz gloves with merino inner), feet were chilled but bearable (thinnish ski socks + neoprene overshoes), but couldn’t get the right combination of windproofing and ventilation on my top half: baselayer+ Specialized winter jersey with Montane Velocity EntrantDT waterpoof. There wasn’t enough breathing/airflow over my back so it was constantly damp meaning I chilled down quickly at every stop. The Entrant fabric is one of the most breatheable and is well vented at the front.
Anyone have experience of a similar combination and tried switching to a Windstopper jersey or a Pertex/nylon windproof?
