We’re on it Old Cranky! Watch this space… but possibly don’t hold your breadth. The ASO Roubaix Sportive sounds interesting but wonder if it will be as much fun as the Veloclub Roubaix one – they REALLY know how to lay on a good feed stop. 🙂

Tony – in response to what would we like to see road.cc test, how about a 100kg rider on a Colnago C59 with the new (£4.5k) Reynolds RZR wheels taking in this new sportive, cobbles and all?

ASO are planning to run a shortened event on the Saturday before the race – expect it to be pretty popular. Veloclub Roubaix will continue to arrange the bi-annual event which runs pretty well over the full course.

Arenberg or Carrefour are the ‘biggies’ – Arenberg is often a key point in the race and usually the key riders try and force a break – once the elastic breaks here, it’s very hard to get back on. Carrefour is the last 4* sector and a fave point for the Flemish fans. People try and witness Arenberg and then belt to the velodrome for the finish.
