    No matter how well I fit a bike rack to my car I always have a bit of worry that some calamity is going to occur when doing 70 (ish!) down the m5.

    Way back in the day when I
    Way back in the day when I was working on a mag we had a load of test bikes fall of the back of a car on the way to a photoshoot – in fact the whole rack fell off, it didn’t do ’em any good at least one very expensive road bike was totalled

    Once when I went out to the
    Once when I went out to the pyrenees for an mtb holiday with some mates the chap from the gite came to pick us up with a trailer, and we crammed the bikes in. he went over a bump at about 60 and they all flew out and into a ditch. luckily they were all still boxed up so no harm done!
