Video: Specialized follow Vincenzo Nibali the day he was crowned Giro champion

No time trial on the last day of this year's Giro meant race winner Vincenzo Nibali could take things easy* on the final day's sprinter-friendly run into Brescia, and this video from Astana bike supplier Specialized shows the Sicilian and his team in relaxed mood on the day he clinched victory in his home Grand Tour.

Astana's bikes were kitted out with pink bartape for the occasion - all apart from that of Nibali, who probably decided he was wearing enough of the colour already, and possibly also thought it would clash with the lovely deep blue and white paintjob that Specialized have devised for him.

The eagle-eyed among you will notice that the first bike he's seen riding in the film, presumably on his way to sign on, is a standard team number with black bartape - on the opening day of the race in Naples, Astana told us that Nibali isn't someone who leaves anything to chance and can have several bikes on hand during a race in case his luck takes a really bad turn.

* He could, of course, have tried to add the points jersey to the maglia rosa and was leading that competition at the start of the day, but chose not to contest it, a fact not unappreciated by Mark Cavendish who - by pure coincidence - also rides Specialized.
