4 billion specks of dust

'Tis the season for race promo vids... yesterday, as ASO issued its cracking trailer for this year's Tour de France, Giro d'Italia organisers RCS Sport put out a video showcasing all six of its races this season, three of which are held over the next week or so.

It's not quite in chronological order - Sunday's Roma Maxima precedes Saturday's Strade Bianche in the film - but that's only a minor quibble.

Add in some great footage of Tirenno-Adriatico, Milan-Sanremo, the Giro d'Italia and the Giro di Lombardia, fantastic scenery, assorted random facts - see the picture above - and a suitably epic soundtrack (Divenire by Ludovico Einaudi), and it's a winner.

I'd hate to be the intern they sent to count the 4 billion specks of dust on the Strade Bianche corsa, or the 120 billion rain drops that fell during last year's Giro de Lombardia.
