Giro d’Italia organisers RCS Sport have put together a rather snazzy video showcasing the stats surrounding this year’s edition of the race, won by Garmin-Sharp’s Ryder Hesjedal and emphasising how it is harnessing social media and traditional channels to extend the reach of the race.
They have also issued a short video given reaction from stars including Hesjedal, Mark Cavendish and Alberto Contador to the route of next year’s race, which was unveiled in Milan last month.

I thought it they might have been counting states as countries, you know the way American's class Europe as a county and the UK is called England 
But then I went back. They have almost the same amount on Russia 
Weird.
