The chaps at Morvélo, purveyors of casual and race attire for the discerning cyclist, saw our recent cycling t-shirt round up for Christmas present potential and jumped up and down waving their arms in the air to alert us to the fact that they’ve just got a whole new bunch of t-shirt designs ready to go, so we pedalled down to a sunny Brighton seafront to see what fresh and tasty goods they had on offer, and a coffee.
Adding to Morvélo's already stocked t-shirt armoury are half a dozen new designs; the vinyl-junkie “RPM”, Italian-beauty “Bella In Sella”, the glow-in-the-dark “Night Ride”, stylish man-about-town “A Need For Tweed”, coffee-fueled “Power To The Pedals” and “Bar Tape” to wrap it all up. All Morvélo tees are 100% cotton, cyclist fit, hand-printed, limited edition and £20 each.
If you want something to ward off the chill a bit more effectively you can now slip on a hoodie for £40. Made from 100% Heavyweight Cotton the Kick Back Hoodie is emblazoned with the Morvélo logo on the front, is slimmer-fitting than your average bus-stop hoodie, and comes with cycling-friendly extra-long cuffs with thumb-holes in so you don’t get cold on the way back from the pub or the cycle-club Christmas dinner, a deep ribbed hem and ribbed side panels ensure extra movement and stretch for getting in the drops.
The boys were also keen to show off their new Cycling Bundles for the more active pedaller that look no-brainers for the tricky upcoming “What To Buy For The Cyclist That Has Everything” midwinter festivities market, essentially a selection of their bits-and-bobs gathered together at a special price.
£30.00 gets you the “Essential Bundle” - a pair of Morvélo socks, a cycle cap, some team issue arm-warmers and one of their new cotton musettes, all lovingly grouped together to pocket you a few quid saving over the items bought separately.
The “Essential Bundle PLUS” is the same package but with added knee-warmers for £12 more. Both Bundles come in black and white variants where the socks and cap are either, you guessed it, black or white. That Pro look has never been so easy to attain.
But our favourite has to be the “Espresso Blend Bundle”. A 227g bag of Magnus Maximus ground coffee (that we tested here), the caffeine-themed “Power To The Pedals” t-shirt, and a Morvélo musette, all for £28. We’d be quite happy to tear open some 3for2 wrapping paper and find that inside.

Jo Burt has spent the majority of his life riding bikes, drawing bikes and writing about bikes. When he’s not scribbling pictures for the whole gamut of cycling media he writes words about them for road.cc and when he’s not doing either of those he’s pedaling. Then in whatever spare minutes there are in between he’s agonizing over getting his socks, cycling cap and bar-tape to coordinate just so. And is quietly disappointed that yours doesn’t. He rides and races road bikes a bit, cyclo-cross bikes a lot and mountainbikes a fair bit too. Would rather be up a mountain.
