Video: Amazing skills as BMX ace Bas Keep rides down walls

Brighton and Croydon among the locations - and there's also a 'making-of' documentary...

Brighton and Croydon are among the locations featured in a new video from British BMX ace Bas Keep and his sponsors Red Bull in which he rides his bike down the sides of buildings.

With the help of custom built ramps (and a bit of hi-viz to pass themselves off as workmen, Keep and his team found places nowhere there was bridge and a building in close proximity to alllow him to plan for and pull off the spectacular stunts.

The climactic jump in Croydon is something else altogether - there's a 20-foot gap between the bridge and the wall, with a vertical drop of around 35 feet.

As this 'making-of' video explains, that was one location that had been scouted through Google Earth, and also the one to which Keep was at greatest risk of serious injury.

This man should try gliding; he has great energy management skills.  He's also got more testicular fortitude than I have.

Just rewatched, noticed he didn't wear one doing the slightly smaller stuff.  Good for him, assessing risk and all that.

Never mind a helmet, few riders use brakes these days. Wouldn't work for me, I enjoyed skids too much. Also not enough bike control!

We are all one smidsy away from being paraplegic.

That stunt is over a year old. It was on the cover of the last Ride mag. Kept wondering when the video would suface. BMX is just mental these days.
