The second of the Wiggle Super Series sportives, the Jurassic Beast run from the Bovington Tank Museum and around Dorset, was held last Sunday and what a contrast to the first.
Remember we showed the video of last month's 'perfect' New Forest Classic? Big smiles from beginning to end with riders in t-shirts and slapping on sun screen? It was all a bit different for last Sunday's Jurassic Beast event where the hardest of the hard-core looked apprehensive from the start and only began to smile as they removed their mud-splattered shades at the end.
In conditions that the organisers describe as "Brutal with high winds, rain and even hail" the event was run off successfully nonetheless with a heightened sense of achievement for the riders who toughed it out. Now watch Ross Chapman's latest video and you'll see something you don't often see at a road event.
