Rolland did say he thought it was out of reach, but double points the second time over Alpe would get him right back there.
Tomorrow will be a day to pick break guys. A break will win
my team's ace and is going to win the stage. just so's you all know.
I'm not a betting man, but my team will wipe yours tomorrow
socks says it ain't so
Done, a pair of socks vs a pair of campag gloves I bought and will never use
No problems naming mine a little early...Mollema did not impress me today and so he is ditched and a couple of risky climbers drafted in, just to be different...No penalties..
FROOME
QUINTANA
KREUZIGER
NIEVE
NAVARRO
SCHLECK
ZUBELDIA
GADRET
FISCHER
20 penalty points for me....
30 penalty points for me...
Nothing to hide as i'm having a shitty tour this year
Froome
Quintana
Rolland
Kreuziger
Nieve
Shrek
Fischer
El Fares
Mederel
no changes now till sunday, just gonna enjoy watching it on my day off tomorrow
Fancy Wout Poels for the break today but couldn't squeeze him in due to my fixation on bringing in J-Rod...
Froome
Rodriguez
Quintana
Nieve
Schleck
Gadret
Le Mevel
El Fares
Mederel
No pens...
I've risked Rolland today, which could backfire. However, I've resolved to hold my nerve and NOT make any more transfers, barring big-name withdrawals, until sprint o'clock.
Desperately hoping for Rogers to climb into the overall top ten. If he does, I'll win £140! So not cursing him by picking him for my fantasy team...
Can't afford Rolland, hopefully be a blessing! Should be an interesting stage
so with my 20 penalty points I have this
Froome
Kreuziger
Quintana
Nieve
Rolland
De Clerq
Mederel
Fischer
El Fares
Looks like I have one particular rider that nobody else does. Will be interesting to see if it pays off.
20 point hit to get,
Christopher Froome
Roman Kreuziger
Laurens Ten Dam
Julien El Fares
Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas
Jakob Fuglsang
Murilo Antonio Fischer
Maxime Mederel
Mikel Nieve Ituralde
Mine is Rodriguez so far, I'm sure lots of people will actually have him, but maybe not as many as I expected...
My picks:
Froome
Contador
Quintana
Nieve
Ten Dam
Erviti Ollo
Mederel
Fischer
El Fares
Voeckler? Evans? Bono?
Dan Martin?
I'll tell you in 38 minutes
I reckon its Moreno
I fancy Valverde for today's stage, was strong in the TT and looking for redemption after his disaster. Nieve coming in for lots of support this morning, can understand that, he will be chasing Polka dot points to try to hang on to the jersey and may be let go.

I planned to make three changes but in the end I made five.
Dropped: Kwiatkowski, Mollema, De Gendt (unsure about that one), Castroviejo and Fischer
Brought in: Contador, Nieve, Bardet, Schleck and Quintana
Secret weapon is Contador. From memory he's never won up the Alpe d'Huez during the Tour (was pipped in 2011 by Rolland) so I reckon he'll try and drop Froome up the Col de Sarenne and on the descent then go for the stage win. He's not one to settle for second place and if he wants to win he needs to be aggressive. Fantasy wise I don't think many people will have chosen Contador over Rolland just because he's so expensive so I'm hoping to make places today and get back into the top 100.
Wasn't planning on dropping De Gendt but fancied Schleck and Bardet for a break over the next couple of days and didn't want to make any more transfers than I needed to before the last day so got them in now. I may (or may not) bring in Rolland for one stage if he looks like he fancies a stage win but I don't think that'll be today.
Anyway, my team:
Froome
Contador
Quintana
Bardet
Nieve
Schleck
Mederel
El Fares
Bonnet
i hope all the sprinters make the cut today.....
Same tactic as me - switch Contador, Bardet and Bonnet for Rodriguez, Gadret and Le Mevel and you have my team. Heavy rain is a possibility near the finish, so I'm hoping the bunch won't want to let a break get too far ahead in case they can't control it later on...
Only change was Rolland for Martin (T).
Looks like none of the 8 people ahead of me have him so I'm quids in if he goes on a KOM roam or wins the stage!
Not much happening so far in the stage in terms of a break being let go.
De Gendt and Evans have been dropped.
Wow this is going to be some stage.... I could do with being sat in front of 3 TV's....The Tour, The Open and The Ashes....Sporting heaven...
Break of 9, 1min 30+ seconds
Amador
Riblon
TJV
Chavanel
Jeannesson
Danielson
Voigt
Boom
Moser
Interesting to see a few people picking Schleck. A win on a big stage like today, tomorrow or Saturday would be redemption of sorts for him. Still seems a long shot to me, even if he did do an unexpectedly good TT yesterday.
My big thumbsucking point was to drop Nieve for Ten Dam; I'm hoping he'll be able to diesel over the next three days' climbs in or around the lead bunch, scoring some consistent stage finish points. Not sure Nieve will still see KOM in his grasp after today.
Froome
Nieve (IN)
Schleck (IN)
Quintana
Kwiatkowski
Fuglsang (IN)
Thought about Rolland, Voekler, Kreuziger, D Martin etc, but went with Schleck instead!!!!! Woooo
Yeah, by no means convinced by Schleck, but had 20 credits for 2 riders to keep until Sunday, so thought he was as good a bet as any. Radioshack going for the team prize so I wouldn't be surprised if he just rides with the main bunch for as long as he can and picks up 10th-15th place each time, though he may attack late if he has the legs...
