PPF. Agree with the others,
PPF. Agree with the others, bonti racelite hardcase give good performance,life and puncture resistance,good value too, only downside is that they are tricky to fit on some rims (tight!) and lack the “feel” of a thin lightweight tyre,so lack a bit of responsiveness.(This is typical of all heavier puncture resistant tyres) It’s a personal thing! the more tyres you try,the more you discover what type of tyre you will feel confident on. Enjoy your rides!

Definitely Bontrager Race-
Definitely Bontrager Race- Lite Hard Case. Great value and a fast touring/commuting tyre. I’m well on to my third set & they do take some punishment (would have been second but my bike got nicked and I insisted they replace the factory fit tyres with Bonny’s). Sheffield roads are notoriously bad but, despite the side-walls having seen better days, they keep going strong.

schwalbe tend to have a
schwalbe tend to have a longer life,although a small weight penalty. conti tend to perish within one year, particulaly the sidewalls. I have tried mtb,race and commuter tyres, all have perished! The road ones start unwinding threads and wrap around the wheel spindle! I have been very impressed with town and country on my mtb, fast on road,good on medium mud conditions.good for punctures,have been using them for over 12yrs. I would do a world tour on these tyres! (sidewalls still perish though)

Wiggle have the Vittoria Randonneur Cross City (whose tread is uncannily similar to my old Top Touring tyres) and Randonneur Touring City quite cheap:

Dave, I need all the speed I can get these days! I was looking at some fast 28s or comfy 25s; I’m also an MTBer and sometimes not as nimble as some on the tarmac.

They are now called Top
They are now called Top Contact. Germanys finest, but not so cheap! If cash is the issue, the Contact is also good ( original Top Touring replacement)

they do, i’m a fan of vittoria randonneur pros too. and if you want something that’s quite big but a bit faster, worth looking at halo’s twin rail 29mm, they’d be good for light touring
