Contador - The End is Nigh....

So, dirty bertie has announced that he's calling time after the Vuelta.

I'll miss the old goat. He was the first rider I outwardly hated as a cyclist - for his associations with doping - but over the years I've softened to him.

His approach to racing has at times been awe-inspiring and he'll be missed.

However, at the end of last year, Tinkoff said of Contador... that he would never again win a 3 week tour, in fact he will never again win a bike race. We are just 21 stages away from that statement being true.

Makes me think Tinkoff is a cleverer chap than we all give him credit for.

Alberto was a great 7 time Grand Tour champ and a great rider. Look at this years TdF where critics said he would implode because of a weak Trek team, Alberto laughed as he finished 9th in the GC. Not bad for a 34 year old. I wish him the best.

As far as Tinkoff, he talked crap about high profile team riders when they announce they are ditching his team. And, no, I don't feel any team owner talking trash about a pro rider is "clever", just pond scum. I'm glad this arrogant bastard is out of cycling.
