Cycling equipment brand Maxgear.co.uk has added to its list of high profile sponsorship deals by becoming an official equipment supplier to Nicole Cooke’s Vision1 Racing team.
The women’s road racing team, formed by Nicole Cooke to allow her to continue working with the support staff who helped her become Olympic and World Champion, will work with the next generation of talented riders to help each one reach their full potential.
With two months still to go before the Maxgear brand’s official launch, it has confirmed it will be one of Vision1’s official equipment suppliers providing a revolutionary new range of compression clothing, helmets, sunglasses, luggage, saddles and pumps.
Team manager Stefan Wyman said: “I'm really excited about the opportunity to work with Maxgear. They're extremely forward-thinking and very interested in our input in product development and their range.”
Maxgear already sponsors the Belgium-based Sean Kelly An Post professional team and has an individual sponsorship deal with An Post rider Matt Brammeier. Matt recently returned to the sport after recovering from two broken legs suffered in an unfortunate tangle with a cement mixing lorry at the end of 2007.
Maxgear Director Ciaran Dunne says: “We’ve been securing a few deals in the last couple of months since we got up and running. We haven’t sold one product yet but we’re in several stages of going live."
Maxgear launches in the UK cycling market on April 27 and is based in the North-West of England. It offers its own branded cycling products sold directly to the consumer via the internet, many of which are developed by the company’s own design department.
Maxgear will sponsor Vision1 for the next two seasons.
