Wiggins down and out again?

'Bradley Wiggins has pulled out of the Tour of Switzerland after just five days, his last real chance to impress before the selection of this year’s Tour de France team by Sky.'

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jun/18/bradley-wiggins-sky-pulls-o...

I was surprised this wasn't a road.cc article by now, or are Bradley's woes old news? Surprised anyone? Do the words 'Final' 'nail' 'in' 'the' and 'coffin' come to mind? 2012 was a dream season, the longest hangover continues.

Down, definitely. Out is a question. Some of you are saying he isn't in the Tour team. He quite definitely wants to be in it, but said he doesn't think it will happen. His interview was a clear bluff setting up Froome and/or the management to blame for his omission. As Andyp says, no one knows the tour team but does this make it even more likely he won't ride? He really should ride the our if he is fit even just for the publicity, I can't see how much better another support rider could be. If the pair of then can only can-it for a couple of weeks.

With Henao in doubt

Hardly 'down and out', the form he showed in tour of California recently was impressive,

As the commentators said at the time, he's extremely goal orientated and knowing -or believing - he's not on the TDF team, would mean he's no reason to continue after a crash

'He's already out of the TdF.'

Team not announced yet...have you got some inside info?

It was all over the media at the beginning of the month that he'd said he's not going to do it. It would be pretty hard work to concentrate on both the TdF and commis and expect to do well in either, to be fair.

He had a crash, hardly means he's down and out.
I imagine he decided to call it a day so he doesn't do any more damage, target the nationals and commonwealth games.

Exactly this, the commi's are one of his biggest targets this summer, if I were him I'd want to keep my health in check after a big off!
