Devon's 'ignorant' drivers condemned after spate of incidents
Cyclists in Devon have called for better consideration on the roads after a spate of road rage incidents and a hit-and-run.
Riders Annika Longthorpe and Martin Burrows, from Torquay, say they've suffered from the antics of bad drivers, and would like more done to help cyclists in the area.

Cyclists’ organisation CTC has said that the case of a teenage driver who repeatedly drove at a cyclist in an attempt to run him off the road is just one example of the dangerous driving that bike riders face on a daily basis, and has urged cyclist to continue to report bad driving.

A teenage driver who repeatedly tried to run a cyclist off the road has been told by a judge sentencing him to nine months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, that he had made a “bit of an unfortunate choice of victim” – an off duty senior police officer. Even so, the judge only gave him a suspended prison sentence.

Los Angeles doctor Christopher Thompson has been sentenced to five years in jail after deliberately braking in front of a pair of cyclists on Mandeville Canyon Road, a winding five-mile residential street popular with local cyclists.
Global bike lobby urges tough sentence in US road rage case
An international lobby of cyclists - including UK riders - is urging an American judge to impose a tough jail sentence on a doctor convicted of a road rage assault.
Dr Christopher Thompson, from Los Angeles, slammed on his brakes in front of two riders to "teach them a lesson" after he shouted at them to ride in single file.
One cyclist was flung face-first into the rear window of Thompson's car, breaking his front teeth and nose and cutting his face. The other cyclist slammed into the pavement and suffered a separated shoulder.
LA road rage doctor faces up to five years in jail
A former accident & emergency doctor in California has been found guilty of assaulting cyclists by overtaking them and then slamming on his brakes and he now faces up to five years in jail. In one incident he left a cyclist requiring 90 stitches and reconstructive surgery to his nose and several broken teeth.

Road rage poll results!
The results of road.cc’s latest poll show that nearly all cyclists have experienced some form of road rage.
The shocking result was gained after more than 200 people responded to the question: “Have you ever been the victim of road rage?”, on the road.cc website, showing that while cyclists may be hate figures in some quarters, they are far more sinned against than sinning.
Of the 222 people responding to the poll only nine per cent have never had a problem.
Victim of bike rage?
Have you ever been the victim of bike rage by a motorist or a pedestrian or even another cyclist? A few weeks ago I was shoulder barged into the canal in Hackney by a pedestrian who couldn't be bothered to wait for me to emerge from the other end of a narrow tunnel before entering it with a push chair! The person who pushed me didn't even stop to help me out of the 7 foot deep freezing green water. I think they should put signs up to give the right of way to who has approached the tunnel first.
