At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

These basic shades from Tifosi aren’t expensive but you can still get better value for money than the Forza Fcs if you shop around.

At first glance these shades looked fine. The open-frame styling is quite aggressive and very bikey, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. After all, you do want to look like one of the pro-peloton on a training run, don’t you?

According to Tifosi they have hydrophilic ear and nose-pieces, which simply means that when they get wet, they just grip harder. But slipping wasn’t a problem with these glasses, they gripped my mighty melon like a two armed octopus meeting a long lost chum.

At first they felt pleasantly secure, but the novelty soon wore off as they started to pinch. The nose piece isn’t adjustable and that too became irksome after half an hour or so. Smaller faces than mine might find them more comfortable but the frame is very rigid and doesn’t have much give in it.

Our glasses came with a red tinged all-conditions lens. Fine for dull winter days, but too dark for evening commutes and not quite dark enough for the days when the sun breaks through. A decent hard case is also included, but the empty slots for spare lenses are just there to mock you. These are single lens glasses and if you want a different lens, you’ll just have to buy another pair. For only ten quid more you could have the Endura Shark glasses or for an extra £6.99 you could have a pair of DHB Triples, both of these come with three lenses and a case and represent far better value for money.
