Samuel Sánchez’s 2012 Olympic Orbea is up for grabs

10,000 names adorn the special bike prepared for the Olympics, but which Sánchez didn’t get to ride because of injury

Orbea prepared a very special bike for the Beijing 2008 gold medal winner Samuel Sánchez to race at last year’s London Olympic Games, but an injury during the Tour de France ruled him out of the race. The bike got the airing it deserved at the recent Tirreno-Adriatico, however.

The bike is unique in that it has names of the 10,000 people on it who chose to support Samu before the Olympics. And now the bike could be yours. Yes, we kid you not, Orbea are giving this very special collector’s bike away. All you have to do is head to their Facebook page and hit the like button, and all names will go into a virtual hat, with a winner being plucked on 27 May, the last day of the Giro d’Italia.

The bike is Orbea’s flagship Orca Gold, raced by Sánchez’s Euskaltel Euskadi team. The Spanish company’s frames certainly stand out from the pack with a distinctly sculptured frame and bold paint job making it hard to miss. It’s a cutting-edge frame and the tubes have been shaped with aerodynamics a key consideration, but without a reduction in the stiffness.

All cables are routed internally and they use Gore Ride On cables to provide a fully sealed system. There’s a tapered head tube and BB30 bottom bracket, and a unique seat clamp.

Oh well, I am not in Spain, but I am not sure it would have fit me anyway. Maybe Wiggo will throw one of his bikes at me.

Unless you've got a holiday home in the Costa del Sol you might have a problem collecting the prize too:

"Participation in the drawing is restricted to people over 18 years old who are residents of Spain (in case of any drawing available beyond Spanish borders, it will be notified on the website) and who meet the following requirements:

● When participating in a drawing, users agree to provide some personal information that SORTEASPORT captures through their Facebook account when they click on “allow”: name, sex, age, e-mail, and other public data.
● Employees of SORTEASPORT may not participate in the sweepstakes, nor can their spouses or relatives up to third degree away. Employees of any company involved in the sweepstakes are also ineligible.
● User participation in the sweepstakes implies full acceptance of the rules and regulations. Failure to follow these rules will result in the rejection of the user as a participant in the drawing. "

I think your description of how to enter is slightly wrong.

You have to like the Orbea page and also this one https://www.facebook.com/Sorteasport

Then go here

http://www.sorteasport.com/?p=sorteo&act=ver&url=orbea-million-name-bike...

Click on "participate" (in a big blue bar if you cannot translate)

Then it gives you steps 1 2 and 3.

1 is liking the page
2 is giving permission
3 is registering to win

That's why there are only 4090 entered out of the 74k likes on facebook 3
