I’m gutted to be selling this frame. It’s pristine, rides beautifully and looks fantastic.
You’ve all heard the stories about titanium: it’s indestructible, it’ll turn the roughest of roads into a gentle prostate massage, it weighs so little it’s actually buoyant, etc etc. All 100% true.
What Omega say: "Constructed of cold-worked 3AL-2.5V and 6AL-4V omega stiffness enhanced (OSE) tubing, the helix has a magical ride quality that few others can match. The 6AL-4V OSE bladed down tube brings awesome acceleration whilst the famous radius curved seat stays brings sublime comfort. The acceleration and speed might shock you but the ride certainly won’t. The Helix is suited to the racer or the rider who just enjoys riding all day long for pleasure, perfect for every discipline."
…I don’t have much to say here. There are a few small scuffs on the frame, none of which are particularly noticeable and all of which would polish out. I removed the decals because they looked a bit naff. Who wants plastic stickers covering up the naked metal?
But who are Omega?
Omega was a small British manufacturer which underwent a little financial turbulence a few years back. As far as I can gather the Omega designer then got involved with Enigma, which rose from Omega’s ashes.
Reviews are a bit thin on the ground, but this is a glowing appraisal of the Helix’s sister, the Omega Alchemy: http://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/bike-test-omega-alchemy.html
I have a receipt from the original owner showing that the frame was bought in 2004 for £1160.
Pick up from Oxford, or I can deliver within a reasonable radius for the price of petrol. Happy to post at cost, I'm guessing about £15.
Yours for the low low price of £390.
